The NRA has poisoned their minds. They stupidly think that if assault rifles are banned then other guns will be banned.

And I know from experience with my family that mental illness is hidden, protected and cannot be quantified by the government.
It's a tough situation. But there *are* things we can do to not only greatly improve gun violence, but all violence, and society generally.

Again, it's not the guns. It's the society. Gun owners know they, themselves, are not a danger, so they'll never give it up.
