You're finding correlation & assuming causation. Saying gun violence is ALL due to socioeconomic causes is too broad a generalization.

Modification & magazine capacity laws wouldn't have stopped him from making mods & using high capacity mags. Where is sound policy there?
Mag capacity laws have always grandfathered in mags owned prior to the ban anyway. There are at least a half-billion out there.

I despise the NRA. And the Democrats aren't getting money from them. And they're the ones proposing those laws.
