By all accounts the shooter in Las Vegas was affluent & educated. Is he an exception to the rule or proof the problem is more complex?
Affluent? He lived in a trailer park, from what I understand. He was obviously distraught and wasn't getting help for it.

Plus, his weapons are already banned, which makes the focus on gun legislation even weirder. Look at the graph I posted.

Reporting on NPR today indicated his weapons were illegally modified, not purchased as such.

Reporting I heard earlier is that he was a pilot & owned two planes. His brother said he was well off. Too soon, facts still sketchy. ???

Point is, gun legislation wouldn't have stopped him and didn't stop him. Laws aren't magical. We need to fix society to fix this.
