What *do* they mean when combined with people showing up with clubs, shields and helmets, assaulting people including multiple journalists?

That again is a very small subset of people & you are spouting far-Right talking points that draw a false equivalence.

Again, you are proving the point of the article I linked by insisting that violence is the defining feature of antifa. It is disappointing.

That is not a true assessment, and the fact that there is violence in some antifa protests does not justify that sort of focus.
