From what I've read, part of it is an evolutionary left-over from tribal days. Primitive groups can be extremely violent to outsiders.

Agreed. But what makes people assume other people in the same country, same language, etc., are "outsiders".

Right. As you've mentioned, in the US this has changed quite a bit in 50 years, but a long way to go. Propaganda slows progress.

Agreed. I believe the bulk of the racists are ignorant and have had minimal exposure to the people they believe they hate. 1/2

And I believe that's a situation we can rectify. But I just don't believe we can do that this way.

I do think the conversation about more moral vs less moral ideologies and false equivalencies that resulted has been important.
