Even shame that people who look like them, or their fathers, or uncles, or brothers, are enshrined in these #monuments to racism. 3/34

My position is: Own it. You don’t get to take these monuments down and act like you’ve accomplished something now. 4/34

Especially since the push for actual, systemic change will likely be indefinitely delayed after this non-achievement is complete. 5/34

“What more do you want from us? We took down the statues you didn’t like,” will quickly become the new “you can vote now!” 6/34

Because that’s how it works. “Allies” acting like God’s gift to minority groups just because they helped POC over the starting line. 7/34

Slavery didn’t end in 1865. I don’t care what your history teacher told you. We have slaves now. 9/34
