I don't think it would affect the number of racists, but them being gone is still a good thing
Don't you think that a constant reminder of a dispicable thing can prevent it from slowly popping back up again?

I disagree. The Germans took that stuff down out of shame, not to save the feelings of other people. Shame is a good motivator.
