Most revolutions require force. This isn't a revolution. This is fighting protesters, not the government.

That's a myopic view of things, IMHO....

Do you think racists can change? That they're mostly good, but misguided and flawed, people?

Some can change, yes. Some no. Some It depends. Some racists might be essentially 'good' at the core. But I believe many, not.

Two-pronged attack. Dialog, yes - plus where necessary...pushback and defense. Even if that pushback requires physicality.
