Leaving 'em up would mean their ideology + actions are being condoned or accepted or worshipped (which ultimately is the purpose of statues)

Generally not. Then again, it depends on how they are depicted.

I think it depends on the people viewing them, and what they think. I don't believe statues or relics CAUSE racism.
