I think they feel frustrated that you seem unwilling to trust POC voices as those best suited to describing structural racism.

Duplication of every other experience they have in a culture that privileges whiteness. That they're backwards or need white guidance.
I understand that's how they feel. They're projecting onto me all their past experiences. But I'm right.

If your biggest concern here is winning the point of rightness (which I don't think you've done) you are still dismissing POC voices.

This is nuts. Honestly. There's a right way to change people. It works. And it's difficult. Tearing down statues is the opposite.
