Even police should be protected from being prosecuted for crimes they had no way of knowing were crimes. Narrow qualified immunity.

Fairly sure qualified immunity is about financial liability. It doesn't come into play in criminal trials. It's about shit like paying for fixing your door after kicking the wrong door down for a warrant on a different house.
