The Washington Post claims that Trump called African and Latin nations "shithole countries." This is a map of the criminality index from those 2 regions of the world, which are statistically the most violent and dangerous because of how amazing and awesome they are!pic.twitter.com/Dtpy9ykX8p

Don't know about state prisons but 21% of federal prisoners are non-us citizens.

Sooo it’s a crime to fight back when invading countries try to set up shop in your home? Or when a nation tries to create a dictatorship through years of back room deal and assassinations? And are the us crimes or are other countries not...

Obviously their very own people believe they are shithole countries...a lot are still coming here illegally. And would rather stay here illegally than be sent back. So........

maybe (just maybe) the issue is extreme poverty, no thanks to colonial and imperial histories and centuries of economic oppression by nations such as the US

You're undoubtedly right as to the cause, please explain though how/why pointing that out is racist though. If a place is a shithole due to poverty and I say, "that place is a shithole" what in my statement denotes my view on the cause? Do you just invent an opinion for me then?

citizens aren’t reflective of their nations’ governments; just because haiti might be deemed a “shithole” doesn’t mean haitian citizens should be barred from entering the US

No I don't think that either. I think a shithole country is less likely to have secure vetting procedures and likely less individuals gifted with the skills and assets which would be a positive benefit to the country. And that is the point of immigration right? To get the best?

getting good people isn’t bad, but what about rescuing people from their lives in those countries? without opportunities at hand, there’s no way of knowing what these immigrants can do. mali could have as many doctors as norway if they had the resources

Yeah I think that's why we have refugee programs & legal immigration policies. Beyond that I don't think it's feasible or fair to our own citizens to hinder or endanger them in pursuit of trying to do more. It's sad but if we overextend or accept recklessly we become the shithole

They ARE shithole countries, run or the most part by despots, or corrupt governments while the people live in poverty. They may have great scenery, but thats all thats great for the vast majority of people that live there. Lets get real here.
