Notice that almost all were colonies of Britain, Spain or France. It was a practice of colonialism which by the way the left always loves to bash these evil empires yet will defend this arcane practice.

Yes, but CNN would rather report the minority because of hating Trump. Never seen anything like what MSM has become.

So Trump was hasty but more correct than not. And I bet many of the ones that do have conditions. The United States does, too, in the 14th Amendment. They have to be "subject to the jurisdiction" of the United States. That means they have to have ALLEGIANCE.

Trump has said the U.S. is the only nation in the world to grant birthright citizenship. The Center for Immigration Studies identified at least 30 nations that grant birthright citizenship, however, including Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina and Chile

OK so Canada is heading into the shitter more quickly now that they have ‘embraced diversity’. The rest of those countries are not stellar examples I want to follow TBH.

I dn't think birthright citizenship is a good idea, but if our Constitution guarantees it, we should uphold the Constitution regardless of what other countries do. That being said, I'm interested in hearing objective arguments abt whether or not our Constitution does guarantee it

The constitution says nothing about it. The amendments is where the argument comes from and there are quotes from the author saying this is not meant for foreigners, other government officials or tourist. It was meant for previous slaves who didnt have citizenship and their kids
