Jay I like and respect you, but I would like to know why you applaud Ashville? Stuff like this is why we cant move on from things that happened in the past.

Well said, Jay. The responses on here will be mixed but it's hard to change ingrained (in some cases inbred) ideologies but that doesn't mean we shouldn't try.

Let’s hope they follow thru with it, now that they put it out there!!!

None of the people today or even their grandparents were slaves. Look at u for example. U made something great with your life and u r black. Your parents as well. They didn’t need a hand out.

So if I understand the idea of reparations, where does it end? Various groups of people have been harmed on this planet from the beginning. Do we start there? Completely ridiculous

Jay, you are correct. I thought the first move towards reparations would come from a large urban city.
The slaves were forced to provide centuries of free hard labor everyday often from daylight to darkness in scorching heat or brutal cold conditions.
Kudos to Asheville, N.C.

It’s not reparations. It’s an acknowledgment at best. Reparations involve direct CASH payments. I highly recommend From Here To Equality by
