Regardless the outcome just seeing the legendary step up to the tee at this year is so moving. Like millions of his fellow fans around the world I’m cheering for this man who has done so much for this wonderful sport.

Just watched the penultimate episode of THE THING ABOUT PAM. Renée Zellweger is simply astonishing. What an actress. She has gradually become the very best in the business. No self-promotion, no nonsense, just spectacular good work. I can’t recommend you watch this more highly.

This👇🏼seems a sensible compromise solution to me. The trolls could sit and snipe from their basements and be largely ignored for the tedious static they are. Verified citizens of the Twitter community would be held more accountable for their words.

I received thousands of comments regarding my recommendation that Twitter require the use of real names. My thought was it would stop the libelous trolling of people who did use their real identities. Others disagreed and had good arguments against my idea. So, let’s do a poll!

Dear , welcome to Twitter. I join millions of users in hoping your presence will restore integrity to this once valuable forum. Two thoughts: Remove all politically motivated algorithms from the site. Make people have to use their real identities to end abuse.

Today is Gold Star Spouses Day. It is a time to celebrate those who survived spouses lost in service, and to support Gold Star families in general.

If you love movies, you love . He has embodied everything good about the word “entertainment” for decades. Kudos to his loving family for handling difficult news with dignity and grace. I speak for the world when I say, “We love you, Bruce.”

This was a great night with great guys not so long ago. We lost Paul Herman yesterday. It’s a real heartbreaker, because there was no sweeter man on earth. Nobody was a “star” in his pantheon; all his friends were just that. You always felt at home in his presence.

Sunday evening 300 friends of Gary Sinise came to celebrate his years of dedication to our wounded warriors and injured first responders. We started the evening standing for our national anthem. via

Yeah, I remember posting that pic at some point. If you look closely at the back seat, you’ll see that the red has faded to a tan color. I was having a small seam tear repaired once and the upholstery guy offered to dye the seats back to original. I said no and glad now I did.

It’s mutual. He’s the guy we make movies for. We both love film and loathe gossip. Hard to believe we just started chatting about movies and he ended up creating this book. Quite a guy, he is, your fella. I so appreciate your kind words.

Here is a link to Chris Wade’s SCENES magazine blog. I had originally posted it for the excerpt from his book about my filmography. In reviewing it today, however, I realized it starts with a beautiful piece on Bill Hurt in Altered States.

What’s amazing about Videodrome is that, while Rick Baker’s brilliant special effects may be dated, the movie itself is so prescient in its grasp of our now total subjugation to technology.

Louis Gossett, Jr. is one of my favorite people on earth.

I worked with the legendary Bill Hurt through four decades in the business. I loved him. He instinctively understood film acting better than just about anybody in history. A giant talent, a remarkable man, a lovely friend.
