The larger issue is that America is still a deeply anti-LGBT country which is reflective in both major political parties, and on both sides of the mainstream news media, but now each party wants to pretend to be a friend to LGBT people

All the while both parties continuing to vote for and pass legislation that directly harms LGBT people. Democrats and Republicans continue to vote for anti-sex worker bills that continue to harm swers, a majority of which are LGBT
