Actually the subscriptions number is not part of the page. It is added by VidIQ, a browser extension that I am using. Should have been more clear about that.
The old style, of course. The contrast and the colors guide our eyes from one comment to the other, plus we're already familiar with the layout of name and date on top and comment below. There it is YouTube making bad decisions again.
The new one is little cleaner.
