This Memorial Day as we contemplate the incredible courage and sacrifices made by our fellow Americans on the battlefields of the world, let us endeavor to remember what they were fighting for. They wanted to ensure that we could live in peace and freedom.
Historically threats to that freedom have been external to our national borders, but now people who are well-established inside of America who outwardly proclaim their desire to fundamentally change our nation.
They do not want to protect our borders, they want to redistribute wealth, they want to massively empower the government at the expense of the people and aretrying, with some degree of success to divide the American people on the basis of race, income, age, religion, party
Many of these people are not bad people, they are just being deceived and manipulated. They are not even in the majority, but their voices are greatly magnified by an echo chamber of media who have forgotten their pledge of truthfulness and their responsibility to the people.
In order to defeat these forces we the people must don the same apparel of courage and sacrifice as did our brave heroes that we honor on this day and every day. Those who wish to change us count on our silence and our desire not to rock the boat. Sometimes the boat needs to be
rocked to keep from sinking. Nathan Hale before his execution courageously said “I only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country.“ We don’t have to change America to improve America, but in order to be “the land of the free“, we must be “the home of the brave.”
