The New York Yankees are banning music by Kate Smith who made the song “God Bless America“ famous, because early in her professional career she mistakenly complied with a request to sing two songs that had racist lyrics.

She subsequently repented and became an advocate for fairness to all people. If they’re going to excoriate her reputation because of that incident, shouldn’t they expunge the records of all the Yankees who played with that uniform on before the integration of baseball?
