      6. ...better remedies for gendered AND race-specific economic deprivation under conditions of neoliberal restructuring. Its most radical trajectory was to more equitably distribute layoffs under conditions of scarcity and liberal (i.e. class-blind) job markets. >>

      7. As such, from its very inception, intersectionality offers no theoretical or strategic tools whereby we can see neoliberal restructuring (i.e. one-sided class war) as *the* primary driver of what will be bastardized as identity-specific oppression by this framework. >>

      8. What we enlightened activists now understand as "race," "gender" and other allegedly identity-specific oppressions are therefore neoliberal projections of underlying class deprivation, except these categories have been analytically emptied of their class content. >>

      9. As such, these class-blind abstractions offer up the perfect smokescreen for a woke, toothless, and benign form of pseudo-radical politics that, despite their noble aims, only reproduce the underlying political-economic conditions that caused the ...>>

      11. This is categorically *not* "ignoring" race and gender, but rather it's the only way to address and combat the roots of deprivation, inequality, disempowerment, and the seemingly individualized oppressive dynamics of late capitalism.

      12. This is why Adolph Reed insists you can't "do both." The one is the negation of the other. It's thus a huge strategic blunder to miss this distinction. [end] Apologies for the length.

I appreciate your taking the time, but ultimately I disagree with your conclusions and don't think they're historically founded. I don't think it's beneficial for us to call any sort of criticism (a criticism that's been being made by socialist feminists for a hundred years)

a neoliberal smear campaign. I think we'll just have to agree to disagree on this. Although I think the practical ramifications of our differing points of view are important, I ultimately don't find the theoretical discussion to be very productive.

Again, you're conflating liberal criticisms of Marxism made by theorists of intersectionality with those made by the likes of Clara Zetkin and generations of socialist women after her. They come from categorically different historical, political, and institutional contexts.

Also Crenshaw didn't discount class in her 1993 paper, she simply didn't explore it at that time and states that it seems like a critical part of how women of color have their experiences shaped.pic.twitter.com/ZECX0nNiQa
