So let me tell a story about Freelancer Jason. When I joined Eleague I did a lot of work to teach them how to broadcast CS, the flow of the game, how to do replays, what observers needed, Player desk and what kind of stats work.

Eleague taught me a lot how to run a big production. Guys who made Inside the NBA, college football and NBAtv were my mentors. Nothing in esports could have prepared me for that wealth of knowledge. I was challenged with doing 3 styles of shows a week. Plus recap shows.

Doing live TV is a whole different world than just letting the desk talk as long as they want. The number of breaks, ad spots, and tracker time needed to be hit. A match goes 30 rounds. 2 post game shows. Only 16? 4 post game shows.

The whole production has to be ready to switch formats and I have to lead the charge. Match goes long then I need to start throwing away work to hit our time. I really grew a lot working at EL. Very proud of what I did. I help build something. The team there is awesome.

Building something as a hired gun is great but you do not own it. Any moment you could not be asked back. When events cancel and dates change as a freelancer it is easy to feel at the whim of unknown forces. I never knew about next season or how long it would be.
