/r/themotte is where the explicit race realists and the trying-to-be-erudite white nationalists went when they were finally kicked out of /r/slatestarcodex Scott Alexander recommends /r/themotte in his shutdown posthttps://archive.vn/ZXo37

note how that post recommends /r/themotte, which is loaded with strident race realism and white nationalism of the sort that tries to be erudite

A smart guy who'd been willingly sucked into the bizarre LessWrong cult and contributed to the confusion of the pseudo-erudite mob who wanted justification for casual racism & misogyny. The internet is a little less pretentious & incoherent today.

Scott was always part of the local Bay Area transhumanist subculture that LessWrong rationalism is a subculture of people who know each other personally is frequently neglected, and is where a lot of the weird badness springs from it's very much not a subculture of ideas

Really intrigued by people treating it as the death of a great cultural imstitution vs. an ok blog with a few neat insights and a massive racism problem, including people I feel should know better.

this is the same subculture who literally think HPMOR is seriously the best book ever written

I’ll always remember the time he tried to sample 10 comments from a r/ssc culture war thread and demonstrated he was terrible at detecting bias. And his support for the google memo idiot lol.
