So I just got out of #AQuietPlace & boy it was dumb.
Okay good things first. The cinematography, acting, gimmick of very little sound including voices, & concept were all fantastic. There were a few bullshit jump scares, but most of the scenes had good tension.

3. Speaking of blaring music, WHERE THE FUCK DID THEY GET POWER FROM!? They never show this. Is it solar power? A generator? What? 4. What the fuck was with that old man? What kind of a stupid fucking asshole stands by his dead wife & waits to kill himself until a kid shows up?

5. The nail. The god damn fucking NAIL! Why was that nail even there!? Who puts a nail UP through the middle of a step? Did one of the kids watch Home Alone of their TV that got magical power? Why would you just bend the nail over instead of cutting it off?

a. I don't think they showed that if you unplug the headphones the sound would play through speakers & b. Why the fuck would the speakers be playing what they were TRANSMITTING!? Can this thing hear radio waves? Why didn't it hear all the other transmissions he sent out?

Yikes. I honestly didn't realize how many problems I had with this movie. There might even be more, but that's all I can think of now. What a mess...

So then why aren't they attack the river 24/7? Or that swing set that they walk past? Or grass that the wind is blowing? Or the water that was flowing into the basement? My point is that they could have using similar white noise to mask their home.
