Adults literally do all of those things too.

We should raise the voting age honestly.

To what? There is NO age where people don't do stupid things & make bad choices. You're making a ridiculous arbitrary argument.

Okay so no age limit? Everyone does stupid things right, no matter the age. So why even limit it to 16?

Limit it to the age where people can fully understand the topics at hand. A 16-year-old has the cognitive ability to understand these topics to the same level as adults I don't even agree that we should change the age, you people just have fucking horrible arguments against it.

Legally they are all dependents. At that age most haven’t finished US history, can’t drive alone in most states, have no work experience due to child labour protections. Can’t be said about any other group. Curiosity has me though, why do you think they should be allowed to vote.

Do you think that the average American adult has a better understanding of US history than a 16 year old?

No but I justify it by thinking of it as getting a driving license. Something you have to go through and to have a freedom regardless of whether you can pass those same tests years later.

How is driving a car & voting the same thing? This is a false comparison

Its not its a way of saying this person has passed these checkpoints and is now deemed competant in this area. I’d be open to a compromise of 17 solely on the basis that is legally the age you are allowed to join the armed forces.

Buddy, the problem is that we don't have "checkpoints" for voting. Stupid adults can walk into a voting booth with no knowledge of anything & just pick candidates at random. A 16 year old & an adult have the same capacity to understand the issues at hand, which is the point.
