I've listened to a lot of his lectures and videos and things, and I still can't find any evidence that he's christian. Why do people keep calling him christian? did he say he was christian at some point and I just missed it?

I still don't see it. You could call him religious, or a spiritualist, or something, but he certainly isn't christian. As far as I can tell, when he refers to "god" he doesn't mean a literal god, he means god as in the abstract idea of a greater force.

He has this thing for the bible as a metaphor for reality, but he doesn't think of it as actual truth in the more literal sense. He doesn't believe literally in God, he believes in the abstract idea of god. I'm not good with words so I can't properly explain it, i'm afraid.

You can't properly explain it because he is full of shit. "Harris's metaphysics are fundamentally Christian." How can you say something like that & not be saying that Christianity is correct? It is incoherent in any other meaning.

To him, God isn't a literal entity but an idea. The bible, and by extension christianity, is a metaphor for reality (in his view), but not a literal historical document. He gives disney movies the same treatment, he looks at them as thought-provoking works of fiction which-

-Accurately depict the world, in a metaphorical sense. You just kinda get used to it after watching his lectures for a while. I just think he's fun to listen to, and occasionally he helps me think about how humans conceptualize the world, which is interesting.

Also, settle down man, don't need to be so worked up over it. It really doesn't matter one way or the other.

Lol "Hey calm down buddy. You disagree with me so it must mean that you not calm" Nice
Your explanation doesn't work. He's saying that by acting out his metaphysics Harris believes in Christianity. That isn't a metaphor! lol
