Also; "Having a gun in your home significantly increases your risk of death — and that of your spouse and children." This is a myth & it's how manufactures SELL GUNS TO SCARED PEOPLE. Look at their solution to school shootings "Sell teachers more guns" https://www.minnpost.com/second-opinion/2012/12/health-risk-having-gun-home …

Clarification: It's a myth at guns keep you safe. They make you FEEL safe. It is yet another example of the Right focusing on feels over reals.

Look i frequent the range and i can first hand tell you some people shouldnt have guns. Most people who have as much experience as me should agree even though its relatively safe and accident free.

How is violence related to guns? Is that what you are asking? Who started this topic? I'm pretty sure the relevance should be obvious. Also who brought up kids? They are mentioned in the linked articles.

They are also likelier to have more strict gun control, and still much, much higher murder rates. Interestingly, rural areas with higher gun ownership have fewer homicides per capita.

Yes, a higher murder rate means people are likelier to want guns. Notice which is higher: the accidental or the intentional? As long as a society is violent, people will want guns. Interestingly, there are several 1st world nations with higher rates of violent crime than the US
-
Also interesting to keep in mind, violent crime overall is roughly 1,000x the scale of homicide. So before we start getting hysterical about 00.00001% of kids accidentally killed by gun discharge, maybe we need to talk about what prompts ppl to want guns in the first place?

They are the numbers that tell us which communities are far more dangerous with staggeringly higher murder rates, sometimes 5 to 10 times higher than the national average. Also notice these communities have the most kids shot and killed. Also likelier to have gun restrictions.
-
Look how many kids killed in Chicago. Or Detroit. Or St Louis.
