It might be different in Canada, but I'm talking about the States. We have a long history of oppressing POC that is still going on today e.g. discrimination within highering practices, the Criminal Justice System, the education system, voting, redlining etc.

I mean, it's hard to solve the problem when people make broad generalizations. It would be better if they point to instances so that we can discuss it better. "Discrimination in education" who what when where? Get what I mean?

Yeah I know what you mean, but this is Twitter. It's hard to talk about a complex topic like this in a comprehensive way in 280 characters. But I'll try (1)

Black children are more likely to go to underfunded poor schools with little to no extracurricular activities. http://www.theatlantic.com/amp/article/471414/ … America's schools are still largely segregated which has negative impacts on minorities. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/answer-sheet/wp/2016/12/14/the-reason-americas-schools-are-so-segregated-and-the-only-way-to-fix-it/?utm_term=.cee4e7c268bc … https://tcf.org/content/facts/the-benefits-of-socioeconomically-and-racially-integrated-schools-and-classrooms/ …

The School to Prison Pipeline disproportionately affects Black children. http://www.pbs.org/wnet/tavissmiley/tsr/education-under-arrest/school-to-prison-pipeline-fact-sheet/ … So these are just a few examples of problems that are very real that have very negative effects on many Black people before they are even adults.

Decriminalizing marijuana and other drugs without externalities would probably solve this

I mean that would help overall, but I don't see how that would address Black kids being more likely to be suspended for the same offense as a White kid...

Also, I am 100% for decriminalizing, probably, all drugs with regulations & taxes to fund rehab programs & community improvement programs.

I wouldn't say all drugs. Certain drugs like marijuana just calm people down and affect them. Some drugs have externalities and people can be danger to others

Yeah, I'm sure that there are some drugs that shouldn't be legal in any capacity, but I would rather have a regulated safe(as possible) drug where the money is going to local communities than unregulated drugs that go to Cartels that are executing buss loads of students.

Sure but sometimes over regulating it to where it is safe will just make it too inconvenient to druggies and they'll just go to the less regulated cartel. But these are bridges we can burn when the time comes. I'm not an expert on drugs to really argue how me of each drug is ok
