Women and Men have different interests and this is also true in most societies to different degrees. Women have higher levels of openness and low levels of disagreableness. This leads to them going into caring professions that do not pay as much and not negotiating as much

These psychological differences also is why they go more into humanities which rarely pays more than Stem which requires different psychology to be interested in

I assume because they major in different things. This is anecdotal but all my female friends have expressed they want to be in a non STEM field, be it gender studies (which I actually have respect for, social science is lit), therapist, social worker, etc.

Right, but what influences people's decisions when they are deciding if they want to go into STEM or not?

Society doesn't tell women to not pursue STEM. To the extent they don't, it's their preference. When someone like James Demore writes something up trying to explain why, and suggests ways to change it, he gets pilloried.
