"You used 4 examples that I don't like."

Lol, the point isn't that I don't like them, they are good examples. My point is that there are way fewer strong female protagonists in film so people always have to use the same example & then pretend like that means that things are equal.

There are more and more female roles popping up I'm gonna have to disagree.

Right, there are more >now< & it still hasn't gotten to parity.

Again. I'm gonna have to disagree. Women are free to pursue any career they want. Not everything in life has to be equal.

That is a ridiculous metric to use. There are still barriers & social pressures that influence what careers they choose. You can't just ignore that & say "Well if women don't choose to go into film then it's their own fault."

Everyone faces barriers and social pressures, especially when it comes to high end employment. Assuming women are mindless sheep kowtowed by people's opinions is a toxic outlook (and yes, superbly sexist).

Please go read a book about psychology & then come back. If you think saying "Women face more barriers & social pressures" means that they are "mindless sheep" rather than humans who react predictably to pressures, you clearly aren't equipped for this conversation.
