This is some classic Party over country bullshit. Immigration helps the economy, overall, but it helps my political opinions so I'll shoot my economy & aging population in the foot.https://twitter.com/TheFrogNation/status/938270377268060160 …

You care much for the economy. I bet you support Keynesian economics too. High taxes and high regulations which hinder job growth. But only worry about economy when you want immigration

Why? The times it has been implemented has not led to the advertised results.

Under Reagan we left the recession and job grown and entrepreneurship skyrocketed. The problem is debt increased because he kept increasing spending (particularly in military)

Reagan's policies caused a recession that cost H.W. his re-election. You also leave out that Reagan was forced to raise taxes as a result of his foolish policy, that H.W. had to continue as well. There's also that Bush II tried that approach, and it did not work as advertised.

The wide consensus today is that policy does not lead to explosive job growth, but more encourages hoarding of wealth. It's the middle-class that spends the money which stimulates the economy moreso than the wealthy. Hehe, where do the middle class get the money they spend? They either get it from the rich, which buying products from the people you took money from doesn't grow the economy. You print money which inflates currency, or you borrow money which creates debt

Why do you think we have to print more currency? It's because the majority of wealth stagnates at the top.

Like this is a problem that is only going to increase; especially as developing countries start to catch up. I suggest reading Capitol in the Twenty-First Century by Thomas Piketty
