There is a risk associated, and a consequence, but if you tried to make it lawful to punch Nazis, someone would fuck that law up.

That's why I don't advocate for changes in free speech laws, despite advocating for holding Nazis out of "the discourse."

Nazis are clearly non-rational actors. That excludes their ideas from consideration in matters of ethics.
