Hyper fixated - as well as arbitrarily focused. These costumes are often modern and over-decorated *variants* of much, much simpler peasants attire. But attire from what period? Nostalgists tend to just pick one, arbitrarily.

"Why can't we celebrate white culture?" they whine. Because white culture is a chimera and fig leaf for racism. Nobody minds if you celebrate Irish, Polish, German, Scandinavian, French etc heritage--but you don't want to do that, because "culture" is not really your agenda.
