I think that people SHOULD have a deeper understanding of policies, but having to win someone over after losing them with a slogan is just extra work & you'll lose some people. Better to hook people with a good slogan AND help them understand the policies that come with it.

These things are also open to being easily twisted. "Black Lives Matter" is one of the best slogans & even that can easily be twisted by saying "All/Blue Lives Matter" The Left having to give a 10 min lecture when the Right can convince people with three words is always bad.

what slogan do you propose?

"Reform The Police", "Defund & Reform", or "Relocate & Reform" are all better imo. Idk if there have been other suggestions.

So you’re saying “All Lives Matter” is a better slogan than “Black Lives Matter”??
-
Yeah, it's better because it's intuitive, seems more inclusive, it defeats "Black Lives Matter" with just three words, & you have to explain why it is actually wrong.

Is that not just because those slogans fundamentally don't really mean much. Like they're not about substantial change they're about keeping things the same. I'm not convinced there is a slogan that will make people not apprehensive about such a huge change of perspective
-
Also the reason we're even talking about Defund The Police is because it's been hugely engaging no? If we all know the slogan well enough to discuss it it's already proven effective. Reform/Demilitarize The Police had a chance to catch on and they didn't

Major political change of this nature should make people apprehensive

Unfortunately the left will almost always fail at this because the best propaganda operates with fear
