The whole “let’s replace cops with social workers” thing really reveals the blind spots that liberals or even leftists from nicer backgrounds have. Social workers are often not trusted in poor communities and have the same power trip issues that cops have.

I don't think underfunding and lack of over site is the root of the problem with social workers. They are still there to provide solutions to problems capitalism created in the service of capitalism.
