Watching Republicans praising Trump threatening to send the military into U.S. cities to attack protesting Americans is maddeningpic.twitter.com/muY9pdMJg7

The good thing (“”) about this is .. I already believed they were fascists cosplaying as principled free speech absolutists. This just makes it harder for ‘centrist’ intellectuals to justify signal boosting them (not that they wouldn’t either way)
Well, first off, that's a category error. A fallacy. The government is an abstraction, not something concrete like a dump truck. It has no mass, weight, or dimension. That's why the men who created it always used the construction "limited government." None of them were imbeciles.
But yes, you are correct. Politicians lie. They all do it, sadly. With few exceptions.
I mean, we all knew it was performative. They're shills, they'll sing from whatever hymn sheet is in front of them
It was always so obviously a lie. Jon Stewart had the joke (I'm paraphrasing) "when people say limited government, what they mean is government limited to what they want. It's only when other people want rights that government becomes a problem."
Yeah like when the government protected the rights of black americans when whites rioted and indiscriminately massacred 300 people and destroyed an entire local economy. Not a single person prosecuted. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tulsa_race_massacre …
You are partially correct. I would prefer if he said the full power of the US government will be used to guarantee the right of self-defense and the right of the people to own and bear arms. But I don't think the leftists would be please with that one.
They've been fascists all this time. Fascists make shit up to suit the moment. They don't need to have been "consistent"; it doesn't matter to them if they contradict themselves.
