There is even data supporting that fear of disease is linked to racismhttps://psmag.com/social-justice/new-research-suggests-fear-of-disease-is-at-the-root-of-racism …
It's like all of these guys forgot they were dunking on chinese people wearing masks because of how poor their air quality was and now they think it's entirely because of this virus
Is there more context to the first picture though?
It was a video, and an Asian woman was sittiny across of them
Meanwhile in China, people 1100km from Wuhan are wearing masks to protect themselves from the smog in Beijing. Meanwhile in Japan and many parts of Asia, it's considered a courtesy to wear a mask to protect other people when you're sick, and we could stand to do that here.
The reaction to #coronavirus
Reminds me of Ebola
1. Everyone panics
2. Acts racist
3. Spreads Misinformation
4. Stops caring
5. Goes back to not vaccinating their Kids from the flu
6. Repeat
Woah now. No one came here for meta commentary (Calling out a whole species)
Yea if you see someone of asian decent around then it’s racist. If it’s just someone who came from an infected region (no matter the race) then I’m surprised you’re in the same room.
Do you have some kind of ”being able to see what region someone is from” powers that us mortals lack?
