So my usual standard is, if it hits divergent people (more than epsilon) harder than typical people, it's ableist. Reasonable or unreasonable? Separately, I'm asserting that this joke does in fact hit divergent people harder, with justification elsewhere in the thread.
Think of it this way. If you make fun of something that's around to help homosexuals, that's homophobic. E.g. mocking gay rights. The idea is the same, it's just that the target of the mockery is different.
