What kind of an argument is that? Teens have sex in private, but we still educate them so they don't make bad or dangerous decisions in private.

My point is not to force kids to practice masturbation in public - with other children and adults - if they don’t want to And it seems they really, really don’t want to They prefer to do it in private I’m sure society will carry on without these “compulsory touching ‘lessons’”

Lol, wait, do you actually think they are going to force 5-6 year olds to masturbate in class? What the fuck are you talking about?

the fact they are TELLING kids to do that instead of just letting them do whatever is creepy how do you not see how creepy this is

Yes, we should let kids do shit without making sure that they are doing it safely & within acceptable boundaries...

It’s masturbation lol We made it out ok, I’m sure the next generation can figure it out just fine. It’s rather intuitive. The point is that one can be sincerely against this class, and we don’t have to undermine them.

I mean you can still do it in inappropriate places or at inappropriate times, there is also shame or confusion that can be associated with it, & some kids can do dumb or risky stuff. Why is it bad to give kids knowledge & the ability to make better decisions?

The last question isn’t bad at all. But a lot of parents feel uncomfortable with this specific class because they’re as young as 5. Might we also consider how the parents feel?

I mean it definitely seems like it's too young. I was shocked when I found out that most children star at 5-6, but if that's the fact then we need to put our feels aside & meet kids where they are & provide them the information that they need.

Sure to some degree, maybe they should have an option to opt-out, I think they can do that for sex ed.

The issue being sex ed often comes down to whether the parebt agrees, and a lot of kids end up missing out on important education because "[parent] knows best"
