And let's not act like the Left doesn't already have uncivil radicals that existed before 4chan. Tankies are worse than any impolite ex-channer

You don't have to interact with the more corse parts of the Left. That's fine. It's not for everyone & isn't SUPPOSED to be, but they need to exist when the Far Right is growing like crazy & is in power.

Seriously stuff like this,
@RationalDis. Like, I get what you're saying, but your argument only makes sense if he weren't actually just some aggro dude who occasionally makes the far right look like fools when he feels like it.1 reply 0 retweets 10 likes -
Replying to @arhourigan @SpeaksAngie
But when did I say that "he's allowed to call people like SpeaksAngie monkeys, and people shouldn't call him out for it is liberal nonsense" I call him out all the time when he goes too far. I'm against the idea that there is no place for edgy people.

I personally don’t take destiny seriously, I also don’t have the social capital to “cancel” him and I’m also not a proponent of cancelling people. But, I do think you’re giving destiny more credit than he actually deserves.

I’m all for people being free to say what they feel and adopt whatever affect suits them but my problem here is what I like to call the “Chud dunking Industrial complex” the very business model that sustains folks like him and vaush

His battles with both reactionaries and leftists are optics based flame wars that generate a lot of visceral emotional responses and attention. That attention then gets turned into social capital and then actual money based on the lucrative metrics.

It’s not really about finding truth or learning about new perspectives, it’s about having the brand of being perpetually correct and cultivating the identities of a consumer audience.

Vaush and Destiny fans like to behave as if they are performing some sort of public service by Dunking on Chuds but what they do is fairly irrelevant in the grand skeem of the fight against the far right. It’s not some noble feat, it’s a business model.

I mean, fuck, none of us impacts anything in the grand scheme of things.
