In Portugal we pay 1000 euros per year (when our average monthly income is 800 euros per month) in public school and those are our greatest schools in the country

don't think he's arguing that it's good as a whole, just that AOC benefitted from it.

She didn't benefit from debt. She benefited from the education. The point is that for grade school we don't have this discussion we view that education as vital for all. Progreasives want to extend that to post secondary school.

I had heard good things about that Destiny guy a while ago so I decided to follow and see. Since then, the rare tweets of him I've seen pop up on my TL were asinine at best. I am disappoint!

He's not focused on talking about the amount of debt, he's saying that the practice of, essentially, spending some money to make more money is strictly a net benefit. If you want to talk about student debt being _too_ high then that's fine, but a wholly separate conversation.

Destiny is kinda right on this take, it depends on what the debt is used for and whether it's a good investment.

He's definitely wrong about this take because research and data show that increased college education don't increase wages which have stayed flat.
