Hey, do any of you dudes/ladies know anything about building PCs?
I have no idea what's necessary or no lol. Can one card & an i5 keep up with game play & streaming? Ah, that's a good catch on the RAM! I didn't notice that they suggest a regular hard drive & an SSD too

You'll probably want both, a 500 gb SSD fills faster than you think, especially with video. I have an i7 and a GTX 970 and keeps up fine with gaming and streaming, though also 32gb of ram.

Especially if you keep original copies of your videos. I have a 1tb SSD, a 2tb HDD, and two externals, a 3tb and a 5tb. The externals are filled with my videos.

Are you using the adobe suite? People will tell you that the Graphics Card is the most important thing for video editing, but it is really number of cores in the CPU. Also, make sure you have enough RAM. 32 GB for Premiere will suffice for heavy timelines and 64 GB for AE + PP

$2,000 is probably a good price range. Are you editing 4K footage? That’s a game changer.

You should get the new ryzen, much better than I5 and a much better price/performance ratio, a ryzen 3600 should do the trick. There is also great deals right now with vega 56 cards and the Nvidia RTX series.
