Okay, but what about all the homes that are uninhabited from the 2008 crash? How is it unrealistic for the Gov to buy those homes & give them out to homeless people?

I know many people in community organizations. They say the biggest issue never is rent. It's jobs, mental health, discrimination, and stupid governmental bureaucracy. Especially that last one. Rent is a problem sometimes. But arguably less than jobs and bureaucracy.

While having a house won't solve every problem, it will improve the chance to get a job and be able to apply to programs that help with mental health due to both of these generally requireing a address to get.
