Idk I feel like "Justine" had the better points, not because they were actually better, but because there was basically an absence of counter arguments... :\

This is my feeling as well. I agree with Tabby, but the way the arguments are presented she loses.

Based on the ending "I guess you just can't win" line I think Natalie's point is that they are both kinda right & wrong & are both fucked by the current systems. But she never presents a valid synthesis of the two. She kinda just washes her hands of it...

Idk as a Cis dude it viewed this as a miss & a weak video, but I can definitely see how it could be hurtful to someone who has already struggled with similar thoughts/feelings

Pre cross sex hormones girlish id’d AMAB person over here: I hella disagree. This was an honest reflection of different approaches to trying to own your inner truth of being a trans girl in a society that is ready to invalidate you at any opportunity. It hurts but i needed this

I do think this is better viewed in the context as a direct sequel to https://youtu.be/j1dJ8whOM8E I also think Justine is horribly misunderstood as a character because that’s another issue in itself. The ongoing narrative of infighting between Trans women invalidating each other

because their trying to improve perception of trans women is a tragic reality that I’ve never seen tackled by anybody as effectively as these last few videos from Natalie. Again it’s rough to hear but I am perceived as a cis man due to the performative aspect of my gender

and I’m not trying to say you’re wrong, but this video was something I needed to hear. Also I don’t think Judith Butler is anywhere near as TERFy as some people have represented her. I think more context with a foreword segment could have softened any unintended pain the video

May have caused. I don’t see how the thesis statement at the end is being misunderstood. We can try to be perceived as women, but it sucks for every trans woman, regardless of perception or the performative side of gender. We’re in this together and need to support each other.

The enemies are the ones you ‘need to be the good’ one for. They’re the Shapiro’s and Peterson’s of the world. That’s just me tho I guess

Well I'm glad that the video worked for you :)
Yeah, like I said there are some good points, maybe I'm just being nit picky.
Different people are effected differently based on what they bring with them. So I'm sure that it works for some people & not for others
