it could be the case that being outside of this community I just don't realize the term isn't used in a super strict fashion (meaning asexuals DO feel sexual attraction and that doesn't invalidate the term) but as someone trying to understand the issue...

fair enough on the spectrum when we're talking gay/straight/bi but "A"sexual seems like a really definitive, objective thing. Lack of sexual attraction To me at least, you can't claim to lack something you admit you have. Again -- as you said, definitions aren't strict
