Short answer, yes! This is a psychological, not ideological phenomenon. I hope more skeptics/atheists can see that extremes run across all psychologies and are projections of them.

So, is there some kind of equivalency between following revealed truth and following experimental truth? Is believing in scientific inquiry just as bad as believing in magical creators? Nothing I have ever said is as inconsiderate as the expressed desire to see me burn in hell.

This is why I keep my religious non-belief to myself (except when asked). It’s a waste of time to “preach” my lack of belief to believers as much as it’s a waste of time for them to preach their belief to me. I get along well with believers and non believers alike. Why not?

While philosphy, or the way to being wise, is a communitary and public enterprise, religion, or the way to becoming saint, is a personal and private one. While believing or not believing in God doesn't prove God' Existance surrendering to God does.

Hi Jose, I realise retweeting like that is poor manners, so I wanted to explain that this is the opposite of how most Christians at least see it. Fundamentally community based- the church as the body of Christ of which we are all part.

The problem here is a missing definition. Is atheism simply the disposition of non-belief or has the term evolved to require scientific literacy. I know atheists who care for neither Jesus or Darwin. Some people are simply unmoved by childish stories.

There are some people you don't reach with this approach either. I read the first half and got insanely bored, up till then it's the same exact thing heard a million times. Complaining, that some people like it more spicy than you do, well you lost me for being too bland.

Nobody likes being belittled and treated condescendingly, I agree, but it surely beats the hell out of (boom boom) being burnt at the stakes.
