Me and have the amendment ready. Send the bill back, and we will put in the $2,000 we’ve been fighting for that your party has been blocking.

friendly reminder that in 2017 the entire Republican caucus decided that "rich people wanting more fancy boats" was such an emergency that they needed to pass a $2.3 trillion giveaway on a party-line vote through reconciliation

Thankful for the for giving me the space to make this comparison. Rescinding the Muslim was an incredible first step, but as with Japanese incarceration, those directly impacted and who were banned because of religious discrimination, deserve justice and the truth.

The majority of my colleagues are so disconnected with the fact that the majority of the American people live check by check, and now during this pandemic, their lives have gotten worse.

Real talk: During a global health crisis and a historic economic hardship, this is not the time to "compromise" our residents. The QanonGOP jammed through tax cuts and goodies for their corporate pals. Now, let's jam for the people. Reconciliation if they don't want to play ball.

In a Black city, the + + majority of , agreed to fund a retaliation countersuit to stop people from legally protesting in Detroit. From water access to combating poverty, this movement is demanding better. Silencing them is shameful.

We can have: 📍Criminal Justice Reform 📍Medicare For All 📍Tuition-free college 📍$2,000 survival checks 📍Livable wages 📍Student debt cancellation 📍A Green New Deal The only thing “too expensive” about these policies are the consequences of not implementing them ASAP.

Homes in majority Black neighborhoods were valued 23% ⬇️ than similar homes in white areas. This costs Black homeowners an estimated $156 bill in home equity. MI lost 40% Black homeownership. It's b/c of intentional racist policies like this that go unchecked.

Why are we fighting for recurring checks? Here's why: 🍼 diapers and formula can cost more than $200/month 🍝 feeding a family of 4 costs more than $700/month 🏡 average monthly rent is $1,468/month They're survival checks for a reason. People need this money to live.

Happy Korematsu Day! On Jan 30 we celebrate the legacy of a civil rights hero, Fred Korematsu, who defied US government orders to report to a Japanese American internment camp in 1942. His court case was a landmark. He later received a Presidential Medal of Freedom

It is appalling that Kevin McCarthy won't stand up to extremists in the GOP who stalk, harass, and insult school shooting survivors & encourage violence against members of Congress. Grow a spine, .
