Magically found $768,000,000,000 for a defense budget, but the same folks can't fully fund the $45- $60 billion needed to remove lead service lines in our country.

As if spending $847 billion on the military industrial complex wasn't bad enough, now they want to add sacrificing frontline communities for polluter profits to the package? I'm voting against any rule that includes the #DirtyDeal and hope colleagues will join me.

Kanye West praising Hitler and Nazis is abhorrent and disgusting. Whether it is anti-Semitism, racism, xenophobia, sexism or homophobia there are always those who want to divide us up. Our job is to unite people around a progressive agenda that improves life for all.

Israeli militias expelled 750,000+ Palestinians from their homes in a systematic, violent campaign to erase the land of its indigenous population. This is known as the Nakba (catastrophe) of 1948. The film #Farha beautifully and bravely works to keep that history alive.

📽️Farha is now available on Netflix. An excellent film based on true events that portrays the perspective of one young girl who survived the #Nakba. It is but one story.. one story among thousands that our people continue to carry, and continue to live through, until this day.

The last time we stood with Local 202, we stared down a national food crisis over resistance to a $1 raise. Back then, railroad workers stood with us. They turned trains around to not cross a picket line. We won then, and we can win now. Let’s get these sick days 💪🏽

Guaranteeing 7 paid sick days to rail workers would cost the rail industry a grand total of $321 million a year – less than 2% of its profits. Please don't tell me the rail industry can't afford it. Rail companies spent $25.5 billion on stock buybacks and dividends this year.

I choose workers, not corporations. The rail workers deserve human dignity in the workplace. I will not support a deal without paid sick days workers are demanding. No worker should have to choose between a paycheck and taking care of themselves and their loved ones.

Happy Thanksgiving from my family to yours. We give thanks to all our blessings that we have and keep those less fortunate on our minds and in our hearts. Grateful to have so many friends and neighbors that have become family over the years. Sending you all love and peace.

Warren Buffett, the owner of BNSF Railway's parent company, became $1.38 billion richer yesterday. In one day, Mr. Buffett made twice as much money as it would cost to guarantee 15 paid sick days a year to every rail worker in America. The greed of the rail industry must end.

There's been such a coordinated effort to convince you that progressive Black & brown women in office—who serve & lead from lived experiences—are the Democratic equivalent of white supremacist right-wingers who persecute, marginalize & incite violence on the rest of us. Stop it.

It won't stop until we force those who profit off of these guns to get out of the way so we can protect our communities.

According to police reports, the Colorado Springs suspect was wearing body armor and was armed with an AR-15. He was tackled and subdued by someone inside the club - possibly a combat veteran. It’s the fucking guns. nytimes.com/live/2022/11/2

BREAKING: Los Angeles has elected its first Black woman as mayor. Democratic U.S. Rep. Karen Bass defeated billionaire developer Rick Caruso in a contest that took place amid multiple City Hall scandals, an out-of-control homeless crisis and rising crime.

Glad Rep. brought this up today. Y’all heard that right? Alabama diverted $400m in Covid $ to fund the construction of three mega-prisons. It’s unconscionable that when our state had the opportunity to invest in public health, they went with mass incarceration.
