Magically found $768,000,000,000 for a defense budget, but the same folks can't fully fund the $45- $60 billion needed to remove lead service lines in our country.

Day 4 and we still don't have an elected Speaker of the House. This is most drawn out speaker vote since before the Civil War. In 1859, it took 44 votes. In 1855, it took 133 votes. In 2023, we are on 12 and counting...

11th vote for Speaker of the House and it is looking the same. No change. McCarthy does not have the 218 votes required to be elected Speaker.

The Republicans can continue their fights, but the people don't deserve us to just stop working. My door is open and we are ready to provide the services that my residents deserve.

I am getting sworn in for the third time today. When I walk onto the House floor, I bring so many people with me. From my ancestors to the community that raised me, my roots never leave me. Thank you to all who believed in the possibility of someone like me serving in Congress.

The fact that our country continues to fund this kind of clear and direct statement to eliminate the existence of a whole people is shameful. Palestinian people deserve to live + thrive.

. paid shareholders $6B before the pandemic. The US people paid $7B to save this airline. Shareholders cannot fix this. Shareholders cannot fly ✈️. Shareholders sure as shit can't fix glitches. Time to have the peoples' back & hold accountable.

"Southwest Airlines made a risky gamble that mass layoffs and spending billions of dollars on handouts to investors rather than fixing infrastructure would pay off with record profits," said one watchdog. "The airline lost that bet badly." cdreams.news/3GkhuT7

As if spending $847 billion on the military industrial complex wasn't bad enough, now they want to add sacrificing frontline communities for polluter profits to the package? I'm voting against any rule that includes the #DirtyDeal and hope colleagues will join me.

Kanye West praising Hitler and Nazis is abhorrent and disgusting. Whether it is anti-Semitism, racism, xenophobia, sexism or homophobia there are always those who want to divide us up. Our job is to unite people around a progressive agenda that improves life for all.

Israeli militias expelled 750,000+ Palestinians from their homes in a systematic, violent campaign to erase the land of its indigenous population. This is known as the Nakba (catastrophe) of 1948. The film #Farha beautifully and bravely works to keep that history alive.

📽️Farha is now available on Netflix. An excellent film based on true events that portrays the perspective of one young girl who survived the #Nakba. It is but one story.. one story among thousands that our people continue to carry, and continue to live through, until this day.

In May, an Israeli sniper shot our Al Jazeera colleague Shireen Abu Akleh in Jenin. interviewed eyewitnesses and asked the White House and State Department if the US will investigate her shooting in our film "The Killing of Shireen Abu Akleh"

The last time we stood with Local 202, we stared down a national food crisis over resistance to a $1 raise. Back then, railroad workers stood with us. They turned trains around to not cross a picket line. We won then, and we can win now. Let’s get these sick days 💪🏽

Guaranteeing 7 paid sick days to rail workers would cost the rail industry a grand total of $321 million a year – less than 2% of its profits. Please don't tell me the rail industry can't afford it. Rail companies spent $25.5 billion on stock buybacks and dividends this year.
