Perhaps it's different in other countries? I've had Raspberry Pis/lipos swabbed once or twice, but never has anything been taken from me.

My son had glue stick taken.

That seems a bit 'strange' but I have seen programmes on TV about Aussie customs (inbound). UK once took a 125ml bottle of Benylin off me.
-
Yes can only have 50ml on-board.
If you went to the US they would confiscated the electronics. -
we're allowed 100ml in the UK. THis was several years ago though, when the 'no liquids' thing was new.
-
We never carry liquid on planes. Coming back to Brisbane via Sydney has caught out a lot of people. Tansit & back on but confiscated.
-
I don't bother any more apart from a bottle of water bought in departure lounge.
-
When we came back from the US via Hong Kong they two security checks. One just before you get on the plane couldn't take the water.

That's a good point. I always checked mine in rather than carried them on. Mainly bc I'm paranoid they would be taken from me.

Niiiice!! Was it an international flight?
-
Yes. UK to Poland. So within the EU (for now) :(
-
Ah, makes sense. I don't think TSA would like it very much. But I haven't tested it... Yet

-
Yes I have heard stories about people having bad experiences with TSA, but I've not been to the US for 20 years :)
-
Oh!! Yes, they are a bit strict over here :)

When we went to
@DockerCon, I was terrified my stuff would get taken, so we declared it and put it in the hold. No biggie apparently
-
I just think people are fearful without good reason. I've heard that it's worse in some countries than others though.
-
Yeah, I read all sorts of stories of people having to give over passwords but impossible to get an impression how much it actually happens
-
I think it's mostly media-sensationalised fear-mongering and I refuse to be inhibited by it. SO THERE! ;p

Yeah how strict are they about stuff like that? I've never travelled by plane myself, but I have often wondered.
-
From the conversations I've had, it seems to depend on where you're travelling to/from. With US being particularly 'fussy'
-
Do they understand it as hobbyist stuff, not just some "weird dangerous techy thing"?
-
Clearly as an electronics enthusiast you need to be persecuted. If you put it in a nice case, it'd probably be fine anywhere ;p
