As opposed to caving to people whining about disrespecting an inanimate object.

What does the NFL plan to do about all the people in stadiums who are in line for hot dogs, or the bathroom or making their way to their seats? Will they be penalized at all? Or can we admit this is all a dog and pony show?
-
They arent NFL employees, they are customers.
-
isn't it still people disrespecting the flag? Shouldn't all the pearl clutchers who get mad about players be mad about that too?
-
Yes, in theory. But the NFL doesnt need to as those are their paying customers. They dont want their employees kneeling, that is their prerogative. Nothing fascist about it, employers set rules all the time.
-
My point is the people who are upset about the players (NOT the NFL) are being ridiculous and awfully selective in how they apply THEIR principles to other people. Its absurd
-
This doesn't make sense Max. Those same people cast disapproving looks and etc at other fans not meeting their principles. Hell but even just those people..all people do this all the time. But that typically in most reasonable people is where it ends. However..in the case..
-
...of the NFL here and those people they DO have a recourse. They can stop coming to games or buying merchandise etc because they are customers. Advertisers and the NFL can't stop that but they can change policy that can provide relief to what's causing their customers..
-
...to choose to spend money elsewhere. They did so today. It is what it is. If people don't like this, same as previous fans pulled their money because they didn't like it, fans upset with the new policy have the exact same recourse available to them.

Ridiculous. I hope the NFLPA fights this tooth and nail.
-
Nothing to fight. You try protesting on the clock and let me know how that works for ya.
-
The fact that some people decided to ignore fact and act as if their message was anti-military, anti-American, etc. is the reason owners caved. Cowards. And they have a national public forum and should be able to use it how they see fit. They've earned the right.
-
Earned it how? Point is an employer can make those rules and its NOT an Infringement of their rights. They're working hence the ridiculous salaries. If it was that big a deal they would protest at city halls, police stations, give half their money and make a REAL difference.
-
A lot of those protesting DO contribute to programs. NFL players, like most athletes, are very charitable and helping in their communities. As for their "ridiculous salaries" they are worth what owners & GMs are willing to pay them. Not their fault they are well compensated.
-
Sure some do.. And that's fine. But on the job... Work. I don't watch a game for a protest.. I watch for entertainment. And since so many speak for others on here.. This is MY opinion.. Some share it.. Some don't.. And that's fine.. More "protests", and I'm done with the NFL
-
And I'm sure they won't care if you stay or go. I just don't get why it bothers people so much. It isn't a disrespect to the flag or military, that is what some have made it out to be but that is false. Some real sensitive people sure get offended easily.
-
It may not be the intention but it is disrespect... Plain and simple.. Why not take a knee any other time than during the anthem? Or speak during press conf interviews, marches, or other lawful demonstrations? They didn't earn some special privilegeto demonstrate on the job.
