When I read what Laura Ingraham and Brit Hume and others have said after this morning’s hearings, one despairs at finding any kind of common ground. Ever.

Of the 3 woman-the accuser, & the 2 women she told-not one of them is known for perpetual dishonesty. The man accused is known for being a liar; about so very many things; so very often. So, who should we believe? He says the woman is lying. I think he is the one who is lying.

Good for Ron Highland. - A note: there were other parents in his state who also had LGBTQ children. He was supposed to represent them all along. What a shame that he was only open to listening to his own child.

You know, when people say that we should ignore or accept or overlook racism back then, because times were different? Well, here’s Betty White who took a stand in 1954. One year before Emmett Till was killed and Rosa Parks was arrested. She took a stand against racism.

Peter Thiel recommends that people just skip university…but he has a Stanford law degree. Thiel says California is awful; especially Newsome. And yet, he was educated in Ca., & started his fortune there. Thiel supports DeSantis, who would condemn Thiel’s marriage. Explain this!

I received the Polio vaccine as a school boy in Harlingen, TX. I had classmates (plural) who walked with crutches because of polio. Today, no polio. That vaccine absolutely made life better for many!

Question: if, say, Rachel Maddow, was sending multiple strategy text messages to a Democratic President’s chief of staff in the midst of a genuine crisis, is it possible that Fox News would call that…inappropriate?

What is the thinking here? We see Al Roker hit by incoming water. We could see the water without Mr. Roker getting hit. Why are these weather people not inside?

Donald Trump spread the lie about Obama’s birth. Melania repeated it on live television. Rick Perry basically endorsed it publicly. Not one Republican of prominence called it out. It all started with that lie.

I look up from my reading, and Nicole Wallace is interviewing Chris Christie. Until Mr. Christie says that of course he will definitely vote for the Democratic nominee in 2024 if Trump is the Republican nominee, he should not be given 5 seconds of further time on MSNBC.

These threads by Mr. Rothkopf are the most substantive, coherent arguments I read on Twitter. He has mastered this form; maybe invented it. Read THIS thread. And…be worried.

I’m just one guy-but...I do make purchasing decisions based on my conscience. For example, I haven’t purchased Exxon gas since Exxon Valdez disaster, based on Exxon’s response. And I have not bought Snapple since I learned they sponsored Rush Limbaugh. What decisions do you make?

Do people who condemn Jane Fonda for her Hanoi Jane days also support Trump who refuses to fully condemn Putin for his unlawful, immoral, evil war against Ukraine?

So…George Will thinks that Biden-Harris should bow out. That implies that the next Democratic ticket will not be pummeled, from day one, and then every single day, by: Fox, Talk Radio, Trump, and all the rest. Willful blindness! The problem is NOT Biden-Harris. Pay attention!

If the Democratic leader of the House had met with Barack Obama in early 2017, and Obama pledged to do all he could to elect Democrats in 2018, what would the Republican response have been to former President Obama’s active participation?

As long as their “circle” (tribe; friends) is pro-Trump, for them to be anti-Trump would jeopardize their place and standing. Until it becomes acceptable in their circle to be anti-Trump, they will remain...

Mr. Hume, the original promise was that Mexico would pay for the wall - “guaranteed.” Seriously, that should be the beginning and ending of the matter. That was Mr. Trump’s personal guarantee. Do you remember? Were you not paying attention?

Nikki Haley, and some other Republicans, are practically already acting like there never was a Donald Trump. We need to find a way to not let them get away with this. Like: “Nikki Haley, who fully supported the Donald Trump presidency, now says________________.”

We can criticize and reject Mark Levin all we want. I think he is despicable. But he is on a Dallas Talk Radio station five days a week. Earlier in the day, that station gives us Dan Bongino. We underestimate the hate and ugliness of 5-day a week Talk Radio in this country.

There is no reverse racism. Do not let that “lie” stand. Racism requires superiority and structural exclusion. White people do not experience such in the United States. - gleaned from the book White Fragility by Robin DiAngelo

Republicans have cheated, & gone against the rules, for years; Watergate, Iran Contra, Trumpism squared... They just assume the Democrats have done the same. They are wrong about that. Oh, some Democrats have done wrong. But, systemically, the GOP takes the gold medal in this.

There has been a shooting at an outlet mall in Allen this afternoon. I’ve shopped there. John Cornyn was correct; there’s nothing more that could have been done. At least, not with h in office. - For our health; for our very lives; vote every Republican out of office.

Peter Baker, and other journalists, should spend more time asking Jim Crow Republicans why they are making it so hard to vote; why they are rolling back easy-to-vote measures. Name a Republican denouncing these moves. They’re too busy initiating and applauding them.

Here’s the sad thing about this. If Trump had let the science lead on the pandemic; if he had dropped his election insanity; he should have still lost, because he has never done the job of a president. It’s very bothersome that it came to this.
